Marty’s photo of the day #1615: This is me, several years ago, photographing a black tarantula at the Madre Selva Research Station in the Amazon Rainforest. And no, those aren’t freckles on my arm—they’re mosquito bites. The first time we visited the Amazon, it was during the dry season, and the mosquitos weren’t so bad. The second time—when this photo was taken—it was the rainy season and the mosquitos were much more fierce. Thanks to Devon Graham for this photo.
