Marty’s photo of the day #1581: I haven’t posted any Europe photos for a while, so here’s a Spanish ibex. Once a plentiful species, they are now IUCN classified as “near threatened.” As with so many other animals, human activities are responsible for their peril. In this instance, overhunting has reduced ibex numbers to fewer than thirty thousand.
